Dementia-Friendly Somatic Embodiment Yoga Meditation

Gentle movement, meaningful connection and moments of joy

What if a wellbeing session could bring smiles, conversation, connection, gentle movement and a sense of calm — all in one?

Our dementia-friendly wellbeing sessions are created especially for care home residents, offering a warm and welcoming space where everyone can take part at their own pace.

Through Somatic Embodiment, gentle chair yoga, mindful movement, breathing and meditation, we encourage residents to connect with themselves and with each other — creating opportunities for conversation, laughter, relaxation and shared enjoyment.

More than a wellbeing session

Our sessions are about the person, not the condition.

We gently adapt each activity to suit different abilities, energy levels and needs, so residents can participate in a way that feels comfortable and enjoyable.

Sessions can encourage:

  • Chat & connection – creating opportunities for conversation, interaction and shared memories.

  • Fun & laughter – uplifting activities that bring energy, smiles and positive experiences.

  • Calm & relaxation – gentle breathing, mindfulness and meditation to create moments of peace.

  • Gentle movement – accessible chair yoga and mindful movement to support body awareness.

  • Emotional wellbeing – nurturing confidence, self-expression and a sense of belonging.

  • Togetherness – encouraging residents to participate, connect and enjoy being part of a group.

  • Meaningful moments – creating experiences residents can enjoy, remember and share.

Contact Uyen today to learn more about our satisfied clients and their experiences.

Our first cohort of team members at Heron Manor Care Home came together for a Wellbeing Team Building Event, a chance to connect, get to know one another and start building the culture they will bring to our brand-new home. Led by Uyen Vu, the session gave our team time to reflect, practise mindfulness and, most importantly, recognise the qualities they already see in one another. One particularly lovely activity, “Watering the Inner Flowers in Others”. Our vision at Principle Care Homes is to create a world where everyone feels special and that starts with creating a team where people feel valued, supported and connected. A big thank you to Uyen Vu for creating such a thoughtful experience for our team.
